Sindh’s People’s Bus Service Fleet receives an additional 100 buses

In the second phase, further 110 buses, to make the total of 250 buses, will operate on complete 6 routes in Karachi. Sindh Govt has procured 240 new hybrid air conditioned buses for Karachi which will operate on 7 different routes. Under the project, around 240 air-conditioned buses imported from China will be plied on seven routes in the metropolis. The Sindh government’s Peoples Bus Service is a project separate from the network of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lines. Sharjeel Memon said that a total of 240 modern buses of the Peoples Bus Service have reached Karachi. He promised the citizens of Karachi that the PPP government will bring thousands of buses in a year or two. Progress has been made on setting up a manufacturing plant.

    Quite notable after hike in petrol & diesel prices the rush in traffic quite low. The new bus service will help people to move, do their routine jobs. Karachiites still feel deprived, due to lack of water, power, and gas. Still a long way for PPP to win hearts. The PPP minister said the government will launch Sindh People’s Intra-district Bus Service in Karachi in the last week of the current month under all circumstances.
